June 29, 2021 in AFM News

Effective January 1, 2022, American Forest Management will promote Matt Taylor to Texas Region Manager.

Taylor will replace Rodney Schroeder who will retire December 31, 2021.  He will be responsible for overseeing AFM’s land management operations in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas.  AFM manages approximately 500,000 acres of timberland in the region for both large institutional clients and smaller non-industrial private forestland (NIPF) clients.

“Rodney Schroeder has been a valuable member of the AFM team for 23 years.  We will miss his leadership and contributions to our organization but look forward to continued growth and superior services under Matt’s leadership in our Texas Region,” said Chuck Mathis, AFM Director of Southern Operations.

Taylor has over 24 years of experience in wildlife and land management.  He holds a B.S., Forest Wildlife Management, from Stephen F. Austin University.  He is a member of the Texas Forestry Association, National Wild Turkey Federation and Texas Wildlife Association.  In addition, he is a TX Wetland Delineator, Certified Big Game Scorer, a TX Forestry Association Accredited Forester, and a Certified Wildlife Biologist.  Matt has been with AFM for over 12 years serving as Texas Region Wildlife Biologist where he was instrumental in serving a wide variety of clients with their wildlife management needs.

Matt will continue to be based in AFM’s Lufkin, TX, office.
