Hughes Creek is a timberland and recreation tract offering vigorous young pines and abundant white-tailed deer. There is about 70 acres of loblolly pine with advanced genetics that were planted in 2018. The trees are in the property are well established and growing fast. 

Hughes Creek runs through the property for more than 1,500 feet. Older pine and hardwood line the creek banks and also stand along some small branches feeding the creek and other steeper slopes for a total of about 6 or 7 acres in older trees. Beavers have made a few small dams along the main creek which are great for viewing.

The terrain on the property is rolling. Some old gullies are scattered across the land that are stabilized and are not actively eroding. Kudzu is present in and around some of the gullies. 

The property is about 10 miles from Union, 30 miles from Spartanburg, and 34 miles from Rock Hill. All distances are approximate road miles to center of town.

From Union at intersection of Hwy 49 (Main St.) and Hwy 176 Business (Pinckney St.) go east on Hwy 49 toward Lockhart and York

After about 8.0 miles, you will pass the entrance to John D. Long Lake on the left

Continue on Hwy 49 for about another half mile past the lake entrance 

Turn left (north) onto Mt. Tabor Church Road, go straight for 1.3 miles

Turn left (west) onto Adam’s Lake Road, go straight for 0.4 miles on Adam’s Lake Road 

You will come to a small house with green siding (address # 211) on the left (south) side of the road

The access for the property is a woods road on the left side of this house as you are looking from Adam’s Lake Road. The property begins as a strip only about as wide as the woods road with a field on one side and forest on the other, then widens out when you come to an area of young planted pine.
