Oak Hill Tract
Chester County, SC
Property Description
Oak Hill Tract is a diverse forested property in a rural setting just northeast of the town of Chester. About 60 acres of gently sloping uplands are covered in loblolly pine now about 4 years old. About 25 acres of old oaks, yellow poplars and other hardwoods stand along streams and in large upland patches. Rocky Creek flows through the tract near its western end. Beavers have created a wetland along the creek that covers about 10 acres with water, dead tree snags and bottomland hardwood.
The land would lend itself to a variety of uses with gently rolling ridges. Much of the tract is classified as above average for USDA farmland potential. Soils are mostly sandy clay loam or loam. Except for a few houses near the eastern line, neighboring properties are large, forested tracts.
Oak Hill Road is a paved road that goes through a small subdivision and dead-ends into the property. An easy building site lies inside the tract just beyond the gate. Public water is available. Soil map for septic drain field potential looks favorable in this area. See the attached maps and tables describing standing timber. Aerial, topo and soil maps also attached.
**Please contact agent before entering property. Hunting lease is in effect until land is sold.**
The tract is about 5 miles from Chester, 15 miles from Rock Hill, 42 miles from Charlotte, and 64 miles from Columbia. All distances are approximate road miles to the center of town. The property does not have an address. The closest neighboring house is at 1298 Oak Hill Rd, Chester, SC 29706. This address can be used for GPS navigation and will bring you to near the southeast property corner.
