Why did you pursue a career in forestry?
I pursued a career in forestry/wildlife because I enjoy the outdoors. I grew up hunting and fishing and became passionate about wildlife management at a young age. I really enjoy helping landowners make their wildlife dreams a reality.
What do you like about your role with AFM?
What I enjoy most about my role with AFM is the diversity of projects that I get to work on. My day-to-day varies from deer management to threatened and endangered species work to hunting lease administration. Every day is different, and that keeps things interesting. I also enjoy the latitude and freedom I have to work on different projects. I don’t feel like I’m forced to follow a guidebook. I can come up with unique solutions to problems on my own and implement those solutions.
